What is Legere?
What · for whom · how it worksLegere is a digital-first research circle built to turn discussion into concrete academic output. Not a crowded platform, but a small working group that reads, writes and publishes together.
Our name comes from the Latin verb legere : to read, to select, to bring together. Three acts — the whole of our method.
We begin online; we build continuity through workshops, seminars and colloquia; we scale selectively into in-person meetings and joint publication. We are newly founded, so everyone who joins shapes what the network becomes.

A shared reading list and source selection; one axis per term.

Workshop topic and invited expert are set by participants’ fields of work.
Produce
Concrete output in a three-week cycle: notes, drafts, annotated bibliographies.

Who can join?
Master’s, doctoral, postdoctoral and independent researchers. Under-18s are not admitted. No title or institution is required; it is enough that your field intersects the circle.
Is it paid? Is there a cap?
Membership is free. Workshops stay small (about 50 people at the ceiling); admission is by topic fit and field diversity. We are not a crowded platform.
How much time does it take?
Reading groups every two weeks; workshops a three-week intensive cycle. Seminars are a single session. Attendance is not compulsory — you are in as far as you produce.
Is LinkedIn required?
No. Google or LinkedIn is enough. LinkedIn makes it easier to carry education and career fields into your profile; those who join with Google add the same details by hand.
There are no events — is the circle empty?
We are newly founded; an empty calendar is the real state, not a cover. The autumn 2026 programme is built around those who join. Registering is a call to shape the term, not to wait for it.
What happens after I register?
You are invited to the Microsoft Teams community. Discussion and production stay there, and sessions are recorded. They are not moved to channels such as WhatsApp.
